Many students and parishioners at St. Marks visit patients at the local hospitals in Santa Barbara and administer Holy Communion. Schedules are flexible and can vary from weekly to monthly. All volunteers are well trained in the proper method of administering Holy Communion beforehand. As the Church teaches, visiting the sick is one of the seven corporal acts of mercy. The patients greatly appreciate the visits, and it is also a wonderful opportunity to grow in the Catholic faith. For more information, contact Matthew Martinez.
