MARIO

BARRIGA-TOVAR

I am involved in SERVUS so that I have more opportunities to serve our parish, its people and above all God. I started attending St. Mark’s University Parish my first year of UCSB because it is a welcoming community that causes me to appreciate every aspect of Catholicism. I participate in Daily and Sunday Mass because I recognize the importance of receiving the Sacrament of the Eucharist. In our parish, I am currently the Parish Publicity Officer, Co-Director of Parish Hospitality Services, Co-leader of Fraternitas Fidei (St Mark’s Men’s Fellowship) and Editor of St. Mark’s News and Events. My favorite food is homemade Mexican food. My favorite hobbies are reading my bible, walking, and praying my rosary. I am a third year UCSB student and my major is Earth Science with a concentration in Engineering Earth Science. I hope to welcome any incoming students to participate in the St. Mark’s Parish community as an alternative to Isla Vista community My hometown is Santa Maria, CA and home parish is Saint Mary of the Assumption. After graduation I plan to go to graduate school or get a job; however, I pray that I get the opportunity of having both.
