St. Marks University Parish

Welcome to the official website of St. Mark's University parish!

Founded in 1965 by Cardinal James Francis McIntyre to serve the needs of the growing community of the University of California at Santa Barbara and the college town of Isla Vista, St. Mark's University parish was served for many years by the Congregation of the Paulist Fathers. Building upon the spiritual foundations of the Paulist presence at UCSB, our parish is now pastored by priests of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles under the leadership of His Eminence, Cardinal Roger M. Mahony, and Bishop Thomas Curry, Ph.D.

St Mark's University is a welcoming place, and we invite you to stop in for a visit. If you are a new or returning student, please know that our doors are always open especially for you. We have a number of programs here at the parish that will not only help you to maintain, but even grow your faith during your college years. If you are a parent, please plan a visit during the school year and see what we're doing to help UCSB Catholic students become responsible leaders who love the Catholic Church and who reach out in service to others in our parish and in the local community.
